Help on pre-wed/AD photography and bridal package

I am intending to engage my own photographer for overseas pre wed and actual day photography.
As for gowns, i understand that usually, the bridal studio provides package which includes gown rental, local photo shoot and others (wedding car decor, bride's bouquet, corsages etc).
Not keen in taking up a full bridal package, as I will not require the local photo shoot. Not cost efficient to ask for discount off the full bridal package as well.
Anyone has tried ala carte before? Can advise what to do?
I did not try but I wanted to Ala Carte as well as my friend is a photographer but end of the day unless your photographer is able to do the wedding album etc. It is not so worth it.
You must remember you also need MUA and a helper during photography etc.
Finally we decide to just sign up a package to save all those trouble
hi serene! i am intending to do that as well, as find it difficult to find info on such ala carte services. I think 1 way is to check with your photographer whether they have any bridal partners, MUA partners etc.. usually will be cheaper.. second, some bridal shops (1 i heard is La Belle Couture) are quite flex with their packages.. so just tell them u dont want the AD/PS photography and they shd be able to quote u.
I think most bridal shop do offer ala carte for rental but the price is not cheap and they will push you to sign for their package

I checked with my photographer, they do have tie up with Bridal Boutiques and MUA.
Some of the bridal boutiques have packages to include the corsages and car decor.
These boutiques are rather pricey though (i.e. Amanda Lee)
End of day, i took a Bridal Studio package. Cuz i intend to travel when i go for my overseas shoot. Rather not carry all my gowns around for my entire trip! =)
Yes, signing up without pre-wedding photography is not worth it.
Erm, i signed a pre wedding shot overseas n wanted to get AD package only... but many studios i check with, prices diff is not a lot... end up, we took e bridal package.... ala carte does not = lotsa savings too....
I also find that ala carte services is much better. But if you want to save money, you must take more time to search around. I just found 1 boutique that offers ala carte services that is of great deal. I got a package of 1 white gown and 2 evening gown for $999 only. Then all other services such as make up artist and such is at a reasonable price too. Anyway, I am a groom2be and planning the wedding due to busy bride.
