Is it true that wedding lunch n dinner is almost the same price?

@wed2013: depends on where you wanna have your lunch and how much you want to spend. I'm still considering but it's a tough decision cos I like the idea of a day event where the pictures will come out nicer as compared to just a ballroom (or restaurant) cos outdoors will be dark when it's night.

From my experience, wedding dinner banquet is a little bit expensive compared to lunch. Though not really that expensive, maybe $10 or $20 higher. I'm not really sure why but having the banquet at night is a lot more romantic and convenient to your guests. You see, if you're having a wedding lunch banquet, chances are not all of your guests will be able to attend because of work reasons. Also, there is something about the night that makes the event extra special.

Is it still true that its easier to make loss with lunch than dinner? Personally, I will always check for venue rate no matter it's lunch or dinner to ensure I at least cover my own cost. Plus, at the rate prices are increasing now, those who don't check rates may not have kept up with the increases. 2015 dinner during weekend easily cost $140-$150.

    Whats your experience or thoughts?

Yes it is generally much easier to loss money over lunch then dinner. Most ang bao rates for dinner banquet is standard but the rates may varies whether yours is lunch banquet or lunch buffet. There are many folks who still think that wedding lunch is lunch buffet so they packed less.

Which venue are you looking at?
    How tables do you have?
    What is your budget?

That's exactly the place where my husband proposed to me before we tied the knot. Everything there was beautifully arranged.

The Ah Yat Abalone Banquet Hall can be a good idea to hold your wedding lunch. Or better yet, book a restaurant like Tung Lok Seafood, an old favorite for weddings.
