My situation is similar to yours. We are in Australia, but are planning to have our wedding in Singapore early 2013.

I've done some research and found a few planners:
    - Chere Wedding & Parties
    - Eternally Yours
    - Scarlett
    - Diary Design Wedding

Does anyone have any experience with any of the above planners?
Thanks for your recommendation, I am still looking around for a wedding planner though

be careful about engaging a wedding planner. i did n just 2 months before my wedding they showed me the design they had come up with. everything was more than 100% marked up - there was a simple tall vase with water n a candle floating on top - they quoted me $100 each. I discovered I could rent/buy the vase for $16/$32. the candle is a simple tea light.
Eventually said planner quit and sent me a long email saying i did not respect her profession when i asked for a breakdown of cost in the quotation. they only returned me 50% of my deposit and threatened that if i didnt reply within the day, they would not return me anything.
i regret my decision to engage a wedding planner, i think the florist your hotel ties up with can actually achieve a lot of those things u see in wedding planner websites. i hope this helps you reconsider!

    Hi Flint1225,

its sad that you actually didnt enjoy the wedding planning process with ur wedding planner, but i would like to say that not all wedding planner are like this. I would advise that all wedding couples should have a 1 or 2 times meeting with the potential wedding planner that they would like to engage. Get to know more about them, see how the way they do things and explain the things to you. ASK whatever things you are not sure of even its nonsense.

Sorry if i say anything that hurts you, bcos my view is a wedding planner. so eh i just tot of writing this to everyone la..

    =)

Whether or not you think you need a wedding planner, really depends on what you want. For example, one of my couples, they always bickle with each other and they know that it may be hard to come to common grounds for many things. This is especially magnified when the stress of the wedding day keeps adding on as the day nears. So they decided that having a wedding planner may be what they need to reduce any possible friction that may sour the relationship.

Wedding planners usually have preferred vendors whom they work with and it is through these relationships that clients can be ensured of reliability as well as good deals.

When you engage a wedding planner, you are really engaging their network together with their expertise. Those of us who planned our own weddings would have recalled the times that we spent a huge amount of time researching on the best vendors or the most value for money deals we can find. Having a professional doing it for you will ease off this process.

I personally provide my services to help you along your planning process. Me and my team would be happy to assist you for any wedding related questions, even if you do not engage us in the end. We know how difficult it can be and finding the right person to answer the right question is just what we need.

If you have a burning question, you can contact me (Esther) at info@jollyjosiah.com.

Enjoy the process of your wedding journey!
